April 28 - Kumquat Rasam with ghee fried Neem blossoms

The name almost says it all. Kumquats in Rasam is an old favorite of mine. I made this for the first time when I cooked for my fiance sometime in the last century. the formula is the same. Rasam spice blend, water, curry leaves and a bit of tamarind, along with half a dozen chopped kumquats thrown in. This particular one had fried neem blossoms as a dish specially made for the Tamil New year.
