Day 94 - Chestnut chaat

Chestnuts - So familiar with the term, and yet, I'd never tasted one until I came to the US of A. The first taste were those smoky divine street food variety off the streets of New York. I wasn't until much much later that I had the chance to explore its unique flavor.. Well not so unique, since it tasted so much like the seeds of the Jackfruit. But, once you find a familiar flavor, ideas will evolve from it and one batch of chestnuts from last year found their way into some lip smacking chaat and it was well worth the effort of roasting and peeling the nuts.
