March 8 - 'Masala' Milk

There used to be cheesy TV ads galore in the 80's in India (those nostalgic Doordarshan days) for 'Masala Milk' . What in the world is that? Basically a mixture of powdered nuts, mixed with sugar and  spices such as cardamom & Saffron (although I doubt if I've ever seen a single strand in those).
This particular batch was a mix of pureed hydrated almonds and a touch of pistachio whisked into milk and sugar, heated to a gentle simmer with cardamom and saffron. Serve it up hot or cold, in a coffee mug or in fancy goblets, its is simply delicious!
