Apr 16 - Black Sesame Rice

Sesame , in particular the Black variety, is a seed associated with the 'dark' side of life. Its associated with death related rituals in Hinduism, and also used to appease 'Shani' (Saturn) the lord of difficult times in life. Taste-wise, its brilliantly delicious, earthy flavorful (I even suspect there's a touch of petrichor tucked away in there somewhere in that tiny seed.).

Black sesame rice is an offering made in South Indian homes on Saturdays (do I need to explain the connection to Saturn AGAIN?), Delicious, flavorful, nutty and fragrant, its a treat to serve up for Saturday Brunch.
